The modern society of the 21st century brings along new challenges to family and nurture. More and more young families are looking for an answer of how to combine career and family.

Therefore, the seminar will introduce new opportunities of harmonizing career and family.

In respect to demographic trends in Europe, harmonization of career and family is a key issue of the modern European society. Nowadays, demographic development threatens both the economic prosperity of the European countries and the sustainability of European social system. It is necessary to frame solutions in discussions with all relevant actors, both in politics as well as economy and actors of trade unions and public.

The opening speech of the conference will take Miluše Horská, vice-chairwoman of the Senate, Jan Bartošek, vice-chairman of the Chamber of Deputies and Werner Böhler, head of the KAS foreign bureau Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Trends and opportunities for flexible forms of work in Germany, the UK and the EU will be introduced by Marion J. Johannnsen, manager of employer organizations in Südwestmetall and Phil Flaxton, director of Work Wise UK. The situation in the Czech Republic will be discussed by Pavel Bělobrádek, Vice Prime Minister and chairman of the KDU-CSL, Michal Martoch, telework consultant, David Surý, sociologist, Roman Celý, Vice Governor of the South Moravian Region and Simeona Zikmundová, Secretary of the Municipal Office of Trebíč.
