The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Announces the KAS Energy Security Fellowship
The Fellowship is to be hosted at the European Centre for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS) at King's College London. It will fund a research stay of 12-months for a European Union (EU) resident research fellow starting in September 2012.

Especially the Czech decision not joining the pact yet was the reason for an impulsive debate. Pavel Mertlík, foremost Czech economist, is analysing the position of the Czech Republic for KAS.
The new conception of the Czech European Policy: A change of course?
„Czech Republic needs an active and constructive European Policy,”said Petr Nečas, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, who introduced his agenda at the conference “Pro-Active European Policy – The Key National Interest of the Czech Republic”, organised by the Government of the Czech Republic and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, 14th of January 2011. For this reason, the Government of the Czech Republic is developing a new European Policy approach, defining the priorities in the European Union.
First official meeting of Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer since 1989
The Prime Minister of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer, visited Czech Republic for the first time and laid the foundation for a conciliatory cooperation for the future. Exchange of views with the chairman of the German Bishops' Conference Dr. Robert Zollitsch
On Thursday, November 18th the chairman of the German Bishops' Conference Dr. Robert Zollitsch visited the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Prague. During the exchange of views they talked about topics in Czech Republic. The Archbishop was accompanied by Father Dr. Hans Langendörfer, secretary of the German Conference of Bishops, Ulrich Pörner, Divisional Director Weltkirche and Dr. Gerhard Albert, Executive Director of the aid organisation Renovabis.
Second German-Czech Day at the Masaryk University in Brno aroused big interest
On October 26th, 2010 the second German-Czech Day which was organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with the International Institute of Political Science (IIPS), took place at the Masaryk University in Brno. The event tried to support the aliveness and diversity of the German-Czech relations and deepen the intercultural dialogue between both neigbouring countries.
Energy Conference in Ústí nad Labem
“The energy dependence is fatal for Europe and it will be constantly increasing in the next fifty years”, stated the former Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek during the Energy Forum, which was organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation in cooperation with N-Ost on the 15th of September in Ústí nad Labem.
President Klaus supports reforms of the government under prime minister Nečas
After seven years president Klaus gave a State of the Union speech in front of the Czech Parliament. Klaus thinks the changes in the political landscape are a big chance to realise the reforms of the financial, health and pension system and to strengthen or rather rewin the faith of the Czech citizens in politics.
