Consequences of the financial crisis in the Czech republic

According to Mr Holtgrewe of the DTIHK the financial crisis is not problematic in the Czech republic because of a strict banking supervision. The economic crisis, however, was felt by the Czechs in layoffs and salary cuts. Due to the high interconnectedness with Germany and other EU-states it came to massive export collapses. New publication concerning the international economic and financial crisis

The global economic and financial crisis shows the necessity of internationally valid rules and a transnational order in the financial sector. The social market economy can offer this order, as well as the EU which aims at a "competitive social market economy" in the Lisbon Treaty. Colloquium to honor Arpád Göncz

Adalbert-Stiftung together with KAS and the Charles University, Prague presented on Friday June, 12, colloquium to honor Aprád Göncz, the former president of Hungary and in 2009 awarded with Adalbert prize. The colloquium was led by the former Chairwoman of Bundestag Prof. Dr. Dr.h.c. mult. Rita Süssmuth and the participants discussed the changes in society after the Velvet revolutions in 1989.
