Esteemed Colleague Leaves KAS Prague

At the end of August 2008 our esteemed collegue, Mrs. Jarmila Richtárová, will leave our KAS office in Prague. Mrs. Richtárová worked since 2005 in the office and contributed significantly to the success of the KAS in the Czech Republic. All members of the KAS in Prague thank Mrs. Richtárová for her cooperation as well as her loyalty and wish her all the best for the future.

40 years since Prague Spring

Interview with witnesses of that time - with Ludmila Rakusakova and Prof. Dr. Jan Sokol

The Prague Spring was an effort to transform the communistic system through the non-violent way. Although the reforms were suddenly abandoned, the year of 1968 left a desire for freedom among the Czechs and Slovaks. The chief of Prague office KAS, Dr. Hubert Gehring, accepted the invitation to an interview also with the two witnesses of that time, with Ludmila Rakusanova and Prof. Dr. Jan Sokol, to discuss the situation in 1968 and to evaluate it.

Parliament simulation in Bedrichov

Students and pupils are for one weekend Heads of the Parliamentary Parties!

Members of the MKD, MK and MLOP as well as further pupils and students met in Bedrichov near Jablonec nad Nisou at the weekend of the 6th -8th June in order to get to know the background of the parliamentary work and the democratic responsibility in a simulation set. The young people were assigned to parliamentary parties, received party platforms and eventually had to try to bring out the best for their parties. 10th June 2008

Longtime collaborator of the KAS Prague seen off

By the end of 2007 the longtime collaborator of the KAS Prague, Mrs. Rohtova left the branch office. Mrs. Marta Rohtova was since 1991 (i.e. since the beginning of the activity of the KAS in the Czech Republic) part of the team and contributed to the work success. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation wished Mrs. Rothova every best for the future and thanked her in the name of all collaborators of the branch office Prague for her longtime loyalty and collaboration.
