Also available in Deutsch, Česky

The Konrad-Adeanuer-Foundation organized a conference entitled "Common Energy Policy in Europe" in Ústí nad Labem on the 15th of September. One of the guests was former Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek.

“The energy dependence is fatal for Europe and it will be constantly increasing in the next fifty years”, stated the former Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek during the Energy Forum, which was organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation in cooperation with N-Ost on the 15th of September in Ústí nad Labem. Topolánek warned of the danger that the Czech Republic could lose its status as a transit country for oil and gas in the next 10-15 years. According to Topolánek, a close partnership with Germany and other neighboring countries should be the priority of the Czech Republic to ensure its energy security. You can now listen to his introductory lecture in Czech online.
