KAS Country Representative Peter Girke has commended representatives from civil society in Gulu and Arua districts for their commitment to strengthening political pluralism and democracy at the local level. He was addressing participants of a 3-day training workshop held in Arua as part of the ongoing EU-funded programme. Apart from CSO representatives, local councillors and journalists were also trained in seperate workshops to become succesful promoters of democracy and pluralism in Uganda. (Aug. 8, 2009)
