Institute for Political Education
The Institute for Political Education is a Ukrainian non-governmental organisation whose main purpose is to improve the professionalism of young mandate holders in the regions of Ukraine. Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung acted as a co-founder of the institute whose organisation goes back to the seminar activities of the Christian Democratic youth movement. In 2008 KAS and Institute for Political Education successfully carried out a series of professional trainings for local parliamentarians in Eastern Ukraine as well as several seminars on coming to terms with the totalitarian past. In 2009 KAS and Institute for Political Education will continue their common work with young mandate holders. A winter school on ethics and responsibility for young politicians as well as publications and seminars on coming to terms with the past are to be realised. KAS and Institute for Political Education are publishing a successful series of handbooks for the practical work of local deputies.

Laboratory for Legislative Initiatives
The Laboratory for Legislative Initiatives is one of the most active non-governmental organisations in Ukraine. It emerged from the common activities of official consultants to the Ukrainian deputies and their staff members. The laboratory advises the Verkhovna Rada on constitutional and legislative issues and dedicates itself to improving the quality of elections in Ukraine, strengthening the local self-administration and creating networks among young political, economic and civil elites by managing the Ukrainian School of Political Studies. In 2008 KAS and Laboratory for Legislative Initiatives cooperated in the field of constitutional reform, on the quality of local self-administration and within the framework of the Ukrainian School of Political Studies. In 2009 we are planning to carry out seminars and conferences that deal with the consolidation of Ukrainian democracy and possible amendments to the constitutional order and electoral legislation.

Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation
The Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation (IEAC) is one of the leading Ukrainian organisations aiming to promote and to develop a strategy for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union and NATO. Since its formation in 2001 the institute and KAS have become close partners. In 2009 the cooperation between KAS and IEAC will mainly consist in providing information on the actual status of Ukraine’s approach towards the EU in the regions of Ukraine and in elaborating Ukraine’s role in the initiatives of the Black Sea Synergy and Eastern Partnership. In addition, Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation is partner of the “KAS Expert Team Ukraine for Europe”.

Academy of Ukrainian Press
Since 2001 the Academy of Ukrainian Press (AUP) offers training opportunities and further education to Ukrainian journalists, editors, publishers and press spokesmen. Its aim is to promote independent media in Ukraine and to achieve Western standards of its quality. Since the very beginning AUP and KAS have been analysing and monitoring the level of freedom of media in Ukraine. In 2007 and 2008 the cooperation focused on media management and stimulation of investigative journalism as an instrument to fight corruption. In 2009 KAS and AUP are going to carry out advanced training courses in order to professionalize the coverage of the European political themes and to improve the quality of the journalistic work.

Ukraine’s Political Parties and Youth Organisations
KAS cooperates with several political parties and political youth organisations in Ukraine. Our common work currently focuses on facilitating generation change in the Ukrainian politics, creating platforms for dialogue in order to develop and coordinate political interparty approaches and on supporting the elaboration of value-based party programmes.
Yalta-European-Strategy (YES)
Yalta-European-Strategy (YES) is an independent organisation which provides a platform for high-level dialogue between Ukrainian and international policy-makers, business leaders, thinkers, researchers and journalists to support Ukraine’s approach towards the EU. The joint activities of KAS and YES tend to encourage young potentials, to introduce European values in the Ukrainian economic policy and to promote the projected free trade zone between Ukraine and the EU.

Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation – PAUCI
The Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI was established in April 2005 to support Ukraine’s approach towards the European Union and NATO by sharing Polish experience. The foundation also aims to involve Ukraine in the active support of democratic processes in the region — Belarus, Moldova, Russia and other countries of the post-Soviet space. KAS and PAUCI cooperate in the area of Ukraine’s European integration and within the framework of German-Polish-Ukrainian activities. For 2009 we have planned common workshops and conferences on the trilateral cooperation between Germany, Poland and Ukraine as well as on the EU initiatives for Eastern Partnership and Black Sea Synergy.

BEST - Bureau for Economic and Social Technologies
The analytical centre BEST was established in 2005 by the Ukrainian Holding System Capital Management. Being a think tank, BEST analyses the social and economic situation in Ukraine, conducts research and takes an active part in political advice. Activities of KAS and BEST aim to advance corporate social responsibility, to provide the basic principles of Social Market Economy and to give new impetus to Ukraine’s preparations for EURO 2012.

Victor Pinchuk Foundation
Established in 2006, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation bundles the charitable activities of the Ukrainian businessman Viktor Pinchuk. The joint activities of KAS and Viktor Pinchuk Foundation tend to encourage young potentials. In 2008 we successfully carried out the first Ukrainian Future Forum. In 2009 KAS and Victor Pinchuk Foundation are going to work on the concept and realisation of a television programme promoting European values in Ukraine.

Centre for US-Ukrainian Relations (CUSUR)
The Centre for US-Ukrainian Relations (CUSUR) provides dialogue platforms for representatives of the political, economic, scientific and diplomatic establishments to support Ukraine’s NATO and EU accession process. KAS and CUSUR cooperate within the framework of the high-level and well-established Euro-Atlantic Forum of Ukraine which provides annual conferences in Kiev and Washington as well as round-table discussions in other capitals.

Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine
Since 1993 the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine officially represents the European Commission in the country. KAS and the EC Delegation to Ukraine cooperate to provide a better understanding of Ukraine’s role within the Neighbourhood Policy and to improve the knowledge on EU-related topics such as Black Sea Synergy and Eastern Partnership.
