Ukrainian culture of memory in the European context

On July 12-14, the Young Peoples´ Movement supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized the traditional annual camping at the foot of Hoverla, the highest mountain in Ukraine. Thematically, the attention at the event was this year focused on the culture of memory and rethinking of the historical past in Ukraine. In the framework of the debate tournament, the participants discussed the foreign policy perspectives of Ukraine.

Alumni Conference 2013

Conference with the former KAF-fellowship holders

On July 3-5, 2013 in Kyiv took place an Alumni Conference with former KAF-fellowship holders and participants of the informational visits from Belarus, Georgia, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine. More that 80 participants discussed the current developments in their countries regarding the state of democracy and the rule of law, culture of memory as well as the region’s position region towards the EU.

Media Landscape of Ukraine 2012

On July 3, 2013 took place the presentation of the new publication „Ukrainian Media Landscape 2012“, which Konrad Adenauer Foundation has published in cooperation with the Academy of Ukrainian Press. The report includes several expert analyses of the Ukrainian media market, Ukrainian media-legislature as well as journalist education in Ukraine. It has been published in the Ukrainian language.

How to report on energy policy reforms

For the third time, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the Academy of Ukrainian Press has organized a seminar for journalists on reporting on the energy policy reforms. The event was held on June 20-21, 2013 in Zaporizhzhya, where participating journalists enriched their knowledge about the renewable energy and energy efficiency as well as acquired practical skills of preparing the material on the basis of available data.

Ukrainian opposition is regrouping

On the last weekend, the unification congress of the party „Batkivschyna“ took place in Kyiv. As a result, a liberal party “Front Zmin” of Arseniy Yatsenyuk became a part of the „Batkivshchyna“. Yatsenyk became a new chairman of the political council of a united party. He is one of the possible presidential candidates and became even more popular among voters. Nevertheless, even after the weekend he is still far behind Vitaliy Klychko and his party “Udar”.
