The Increase of the U.S. Debt Ceiling
Technical, but no Political Solution
With less than 12 hours remaining before the United States reached a deadline for raising its debt ceiling to prevent a default on its financial obligations, the U.S. Senate approved a bipartisan compromise deal and cleared the legislation for the President’s signature.
