KAS regional alumni gather in Cambodia
Eleven Vietnamese members participated in the KAS regional alumni meeting in Cambodia on November 3-5. During the three-day meeting KAS alumni from Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar discussed the role of KAS and the alumni in promoting regional cooperation and integration in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region.
The experts of the seminar "ASEAN Journalism: Comparative Perspectives" shared the view that the digital era is a challenge and an opportunity for ASEAN media to make their products accessible to regional readers and, therefore, promote understanding among the peoples in the block.
Vietnam’s economic growth, its geo-strategically important location on the South China Sea and its multilateral trading within international and regional organisations have contributed to the country’s success in developing into a significant actor in the region. Though the poor human rights situation remains, the condition of the rule of law needs to be improved the country’s political efforts to become a respected member of the international community are bearing fruit.
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is one of the political foundations of the Federal Republic of Germany. With its activities and projects, the Foundation realizes an active and substantial contribution to international cooperation and understanding.
