Strengthening future cooperation with the National Assembly (NA)
On the 03. 11. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Vice – President of the NA, met with Ms. Rabea Brauer, KAS Chief Representative to Vietnam. The main focus was on strengthening the cooperation between the KAS and the NA in the coming years. The Vice – President spoke highly of the work of the KAS with regard to the reform of the legal system, decentralization and regarding the professionalization of the NA. The future cooperation will focus on providing training measures for representatives of the NA.
Minister of Justice of Vietnam held a courtesy meeting with KAS Chief Representative
Minister of Ministry of Justice of Vietnam held a courtesy meeting with Ms. Rabea Brauer, KAS Chief Representative in Vietnam and Mr. Peter Koeppinger, former KAS Chief Representative in Vietnam and current KAS Chief Representative in Philippine. The Justice Minister appreciated KAS’s cooperation and assistance, particularly in the Rule of Law Dialogue (2009-2011). Both sides agreed that the mutual cooperation between the Ministry and KAS would be strengthened in the forthcoming time.

German Chancellor speaks out her gratitude to German foundations
The Chancellor's state visit from 11. - 12. October aimed at negotiating a strategic partnership between the two countries. At the evening reception Chancellor Merkel addressed the bilateral cooperation concerning economic and development policy and thanked the present representatives of the German political foundations for their outstanding work. Next to cooperating in the economic sphere, Merkel emphasized Germany's continuing support to Vietnam regarding official development assistance.
