Policy implications for Vietnam's economic reform

About 80 students and researchers attended a conference on economic adjustment after the 2008 financial crisis yesterday. Dr. Sanjay Kalra from IMF Washington reviewed the global financial crisis and its lessons. Meanwhile, Prof. Kang-Kook Lee and Assist. Prof. Hideyuki Miura from Japan's Ritsumeikan and Kyorin universities respectively lectured on economic and social impacts of Abenomics. Together with Vietnamese experts the three scholars gave recommendations to economic reform in Vietnam.

China's domestic and foreign policies analysed

Scholars put their heads together yesterday in Hanoi to discuss the domestic and foreign policy of China. The discussion focused on the influences of domestic politics on the country's foreign policies. The seminar was included in talk series carried out by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, under the sponsorship of KAS Vietnam.

German parliamentarians's lecture on German Experiences on Ecological City Development has attract nearly 100 lecturers and students of the National University of Civil Engineering. The parliament delegation including Mr. Peter Stein, Ms. Sybille Benning and Mr. Andreas Lämmel shared their views on ecological and sustainable development as well as application of renewable energy in "future cities".

Household businesses need legal framework for production expansion

The project "Strengthening Local Governance for Local Economic Growth in Vietnamese Cities” (LoGoVic), which was co-funded by the EU and KAS and implemented by the Association of Cities of Vietnam, has been completed after two years, but the benefits for the population in the pilot cities continues. It recommended that the government enacts laws and regulations that allow micro-enterprises to consolidate their business in the market and to expand as its support to the SMEs. more…

Representative of Hue City receive the title from ACVN

Hue - a city of good livability: ACVN

Hue has elbowed Hai Duong and Tay Ninh cities to be the winner of the competition entitled “City of good local economic development and livability” organized by the Association of Cities of Vietnam (ACVN)under the sponsorship of EU and KAS. Hue won the title for its effort in improving quality of public services in the city. The city has also succeeded in arming local business households with essential business skills as well as creating favourable environment for them to do their businesses.

MoU with DAV

KAS and Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam determine to boost cooperation

HA NOI (KAS) - Konrad Adenauer Vietnam and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam(DAV) have signed a memorandum of understanding, under which KAS will support the academy to build a new course on Security Policy Analysis: European Perspective. KAS will also sponsor DAV's seminar on regional security architecture apart from talk series on China's domestic and foreign policy. These activities are scheduled to take place in two years starting in July.
