A NEW Summer School in perhaps Europe's most beautiful location. Konrad Adenauer, the legendary first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany had his summer residence at Villa la Collina.

Also available in Deutsch, Italiano

It is in this enchanting and inspiring atmosphere that Italy’s first international multi subject summer school will open in the summer of 2013. A wide range of courses for individuals and families will be offered taking in everything from Italian courses, visual arts, music, architecture of the area’s splendid villas and gardens. There will also be the possibility to study Italian cooking , painting, healthy living. Of course no Summer School set in such a stunning location could avoid offering the more active students a weeks trekking through the panoramic landscapes which surround the school. All courses will be held in English and the School has done its best to select tutors not only for their professional quality but also for their enthusiasm and dedication to their subjects.

Families are welcome and the one or two weeks courses can be attended both as residential and non-residential - and while parents emerge themselves into their chosen subject younger guests can enjoy new experiences at the Summer School Junior.

Early birds will be able to snap up the limited number of accommodations in the historic Villa la Collina itself with its charming rooms.

In fact the bearing idea behind the Summer School has been to create a base for an active holiday in beautiful surroundings with a warm and friendly atmosphere enhanced for instance by little daily introductions to Italian gastronomy including different, typical Italian snacks served at the midmorning breaks, while tea and coffee with classic Italian cakes will be available in the afternoon. The evenings can be rounded off attending one of the entertainments offered around the school – or just spent at one of the many restaurants along the lake or perhaps by taking the little ferries over to lovely Bellagio with all what it offers of bars and restaurants and a lot of shopping. Other exciting after-school alternatives could be a boat tour to Como, a visit to the nearby historic Menaggio Golf Club or windsurfing on the lake – so also plenty to do for the partner who perhaps did not sign up for a course...

The leaders behind the Lake Como Summer School (the first multisubject in Italy) are two strong Italian ladies, Raffaella Girola and Vera Serantoni Sorensen who have been inspired by the already existing Summer School in Northern Europe and this idea has been now transformed into reality within the frames of a splendid scenery on one of Europe’s most beautiful locations.
