by Dr. Andreas Jacobs, Hossam Madkour
In September 2008 a landslide in a Cairene slum caused the death of more than 100 people. This catastrophe instantly pointed the public perception at the drastic housing shortage in Egypt. Both governement and private sector have been struggling for a long time to provide sufficient housing for the growing population. A new country report analyses causes and consequences of the housing shortage in Egypt and suggests solutions. (in German)
