Discussion event at Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin

On occasion of the final seminar of the KAS - Martens Discussion Club 2016 series, participants from Belarus invited experts from Berlin to discuss the current developments in Belarus during an evening event in Berlin on November 30, 2016.

As a keynote speaker Zmicier Mickiewicz, expert of Belarus Security Blog, introduced the current challenges of Russian propaganda concerning Belarus. During the discussion, the guests from Belarus and their interlocutors from Germany touched upon questions of Belarusian statehood, identity, educational reforms and the relations of Belarus with Russia and the EU inter alia. Besides the discussion partners from Belarus, guests from political organizations, federal ministries, NGOs and also Belarus-experts from Germany took part in the discussion. The event was moderated by KAS Belarus country representative Dr. Wolfgang Sender.

The KAS - Martens Discussion Club 2016 is a multi-part series of seminars and workshops organized by the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies together with Belarus country office of Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and funded by the European Parliament. In the framework of the “KAS-Martens discussion club” 16 young political experts from Belarus go through a cycle of seminars on politics, the EU and European integration, European values and Germany.
