Sustainable Asia — Envisioning your Future

Workshop on SDGs for Young People From the Asia Pacific Region

Young people are key in helping build an inclusive and promote sustainable development in Asia. However these young activists lack experience and resources to implement their visions. Therefore Konrad Adenauer Stiftung-RECAP and the Hong Kong American Centre invited five teams from Asia to a workshop in Bangkok.

Women’s Rights and Responsibilities in the Society

WORKSHOP WITH WAWATA IN MBAGALA

From Friday 07th September 2018 to Sunday 9th September 2018, Wanawake Wakatoliki Tanzania (WAWATA) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) jointly convened a workshop on “Women’s Rights and Responsibilities in the Society” in Mbagala, Dar es Salaam. This leadership training viewed the role of women in the family, community and church.

Annual KAS-SAIIA Careers Evening 2018 (Gauteng)

On 7 August 2018, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the South African Institute of International Affairs hosted the annual KAS-SAIIA Humanities Careers Evening 2018. This year event, which followed on the success of the previous ones, carried the theme of “Unlimited paths with your humanities degree”. 312 participants, including recent humanities graduates and current students from Gauteng-based universities were exposed to the different career paths and opportunities available to them after the completion of their degrees.

KAS-ELES dialogue program

KAS and ELES delegation introduced to politics, economy in Palestinian Territories. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) was pleased to host a group of German KAS and Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk (ELES) scholarship holders in the city of Ramallah to offer them a closer look into the Palestinian society and meet experts to learn more about local politics, economy, social entrepreneurship and everyday life.

64th issue of Arise Magazine “The Refugee Crisis – a Women‘s Rights Issue“ officially launched.

On Friday, 31st of August, the new issue of Arise Magazine was officially launched during a networking reception, organized in partnership with Co-publisher Action for Development (ACFODE). In honor of the topic “The refugee Crisis, a Women’s Edition” representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister as well as ACFODE and different womens’ rights and refugee rights organizations were present to engage in a panel discussion.

Youth and Peacebuilding Workshop

In the week from 27 August to 2 September, 40 young Cambodians took part in the workshop „Youth and Peacebuilding“. They learned about the cruel history of the Khmer Rouge and peacebuilding.
