This team addresses the domestic policy of the Federal Republic of Germany. Key issues include federalism, the role of the political parties as well as changes in the voting patterns of the German electorate. The team on domestic policy embodies one of the guiding concepts of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the 'society of active citizens'. The idea behind the project is to motivate the civic society to take over more responsibility in its own affairs and to regulate things not by government but on that level where it can be done best. Advocating for a reform-oriented democratic polity, the domestic policy team drafts new guidelines and concepts in response to current challenges.
