The SAHEL Security Dialogue Series brings together policy makers from the German, French, Dutch, Italian and British governments, ECOWAS, the African Union and the G5 Joint Force secretariat through invitation only. The roundtable discussion will be held under Chatham House rule in the framework of the German Presidency at the EU Council. The series will aim to host several roundtables until the end of 2020, in order to create regular engagement with the African and European strategic community. We aim to provide a snapshot of the most important challenges linked to coordination and cooperation in the Sahel and reflect over what could be done to improve both European and African strategies for the region. Such discussion will contribute to a final paper to be published at the end of December 2020.
