Multiculturalism and Interfaith Dialogue in a Mixed City: Theory and Practice

As part of the class “New Approaches to Conflict Resolution in Israeli Society” offered in the graduate program “Conflict Resolution, Management and Negotiation” and the Project for the Study of Religion, Culture and Peace at Bar-Ilan University in cooperation with KAS Israel, an excursion to Akko is organized.


The on-going Inter-religious/ Intercultural study seminar aims at providing the students with insights into current challenges Akko is facing today as a mixed Jewish –Arab city in Israel with a problematic socio-economic situation, be it on issues pertaining to interreligious or -cultural dialogue, or community relations work on municipality as well as on grass-root initiative and entrepreneurship level.
