NATIONAL YOUTH HACKATON - STOP „BRAIN DRAIN“!

Association LEAD in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies issues a call for participants on a hackaton for tackling the Brain Drain problem. The event will take place in Ohrid from 17 until 19 of May as a continuation of the Regional Hackathon that also took place in Ohrid in 2018.

The goal of the event is to contribute toward the national policies for tackling the Brain Drain problem in North Macedonia.

The event will encompass 30 participants (institutional representatives, civil activists and individuals) that want to contribute toward the subject through intensive dialogue and developing of policies.

The event is intended to persons with at least 2 years of experience in the following Brain Drain related areas: employment, education, quality of life and civic rights)

Invitations will also be sent to institutional representatives from the country from the relevant institution connected with Brain Drain.

METHODOLOGY

The methodology of the program will be based upon Policy Document – Perspectives of young people

That was developed during the last year event. Each participant will have to choose one focus area during the event:

  1. Education
  2. Employment
  3. Quality of life
  4. Civic rights

As an end result each group will have to formulate concrete measures for tackling Brain Drain in the country. The results of the groups will be formulated in one policy document that will be presented on a Conference in Skopje by the end of May or early June.

Each group will have an assigned researcher to help with the work of the group and accompany the process of formulating the final product.

All costs related to the conference (travel, accommodation and food) will be covered by the organizers.
