Monitoring Bericht über die Entwicklung in Belarus

Ein neuer Monitoring Bericht über die Entwicklung in Belarus von November 2009 bis September 2010 liegt vor. Er enthält Empfehlungen an die EU für ihre Politik gegenüber Belarus und wurde erstellt von der Vereingung pro-demokratischer NGOs, dem unabhängigen Journalistenverband BAZH und mehreren Menschenrechtsorganisationen, koordiniert von der Belarussischen Schuman-Gesellschaft. Das Format der Berichte wurde auf einem internationalen Koordinierungstreffen in Warschau im Herbst 2008 entwickelt.

Pöttering: Wir stehen an der Seite der Demokraten in Weißrussland

Auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung ist eine Gruppe von demokratischen Nachwuchspolitikern aus Weißrussland vom 6. - 11. Juni 2010 zu einer Studien- und Dialogreise in die Bundesrepublik Deutschland gekommen. Das Programm geht auf eine Initiative von Dr. Hans-Gert Pöttering zurück, der auf seiner ersten Auslandsreise als neuer Vorsitzender der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung im Februar 2010 Minsk besucht hatte und mit Partnern aus der demokratischen Opposition im Land zusammengetroffen war.

Weißrusslands Weg in Europa

Die dritte Jahreskonferenz des Belarussischen Institutes für Strategische Studien (BISS) fand vom 09. – 10. Februar 2010 in Minsk unter dem Titel “Weißrusslands Weg in Europa” statt. Die Konferenz wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit der EU-Delegation in Minsk, der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung und dem Institut for Security Studies aus Paris organisiert.

Rede von Alexander Milinkiewitsch auf dem EVP Kongress in Bonn

Das Schicksal der Demokratie in Belarus hänge von einer gut koordinierten Zusammenarbeit der belarussischen Zivilgesellschaft mit der Europäischen Union ab, erklärte Alexander Milinkiewitsch auf dem EVP-Kongress in Bonn am Mittwoch. Es gebe für sein Land keine Alternative als eine schrittweise Annäherung an die EU, betonte er. Europa dürfe aber nicht müde werden, in dem Dialog mit Belarus moralische Prinzipien zu betonen.
