Women in Politics: training new leaderships in Brasília

During the 26th and 27th February, 2015, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in partnership with the National PSDB-Women, organized in Brasilia, the Women's Workshop in politics: training new leaderships. The first event was held in São Paulo, on 29 and 30 January, being developed for the new affiliates of the PSDB in the Southeast and South of Brazil. The course in Brasilia had the participation of women from the Midwest and North of the country.

At the opening Solange Jurema, President of the National PSDB-Woman, and Felix Dane, representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Brazil, stressed the importance of the initiative. For both these discussions are extremely important for understanding the greater inclusion of women in politics, as well as the need for them to seek more training and support.

The course included experts in various fields who presented and debated democracy, Brazilian political party system, participation of women in politics, this segment of the population access to rights and citizenship. In addition, topics such as women in the war and the vision of Brazilian society towards women also took part in the workshop content, which led the audience of 80 women to reflection and questions.

Finally, it can be said that the course was once again a success, the result of an enriching and lasting partnership with the PSDB-Women and Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The third edition will be held in Maceió, Alagoas, on 5 and 6 March, for Women from the Northeastern of the country.
