Bulgarien und der Kommunismus
Die im Buch gesammelten Aufsätze „Bulgarien und der Kommunismus“ sind im Zeitraum 2012-2015 entstanden und von bulgarischen und deutschen Historikern und Experten verfasst worden. Sie behandeln einzelne und abgeschlossene Kapitel zur Geschichte des Kommunismus in Bulgarien von 1944 bis 1989. Die Texte werden in Bulgarisch und Deutsch veröffentlicht.

Zwischen Nachhaltigkeit, EU-Integration und geopolitischen Herausforderungen
The conference “Connectivity Policy on the Balkans: Between Sustainability, EU-Integration and Geopolitical Challenges” will take place in Burgas, on 26th of May 2023 at 11:00 a.m at the International Congress Center Burgas (Hall Foros; Registration: 10:30 am) Improving connectivity in Europe and between Europe and Asia has unique added value for the citizens and for the economic growth. Our goal in this endeavour is to help promote the proposals or recommendations on connectivity infrastructure, energy security and institutional resilience and to create a critical mass of knowledge on the Connectivity Agenda. The criticality of TEN-T Core Corridors became more obvious than ever in the context of the war in Ukraine and the bridging role of the Black sea basin has never been of such an importance. Due to its location, Bulgaria is playing a crucial role in the development of Corridor 4 (Orient/ East- Med) and Corridor 9 (Rhine-Danube) as well as of all critical intermodal nods. The challenges and the possibilities for transport connections on the Balkans, both water and land transport, are the focus of the conference. Besides, pivotal role will be given to the importance of connectivity policies for economic development and for bringing nations together. The event will be opened by the head of the Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bulgaria, Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes. Within the framework of the discussion, insights about EU-integration and geopolitical challenges will be presented by the 4th President of Bulgaria and Minister of Regional development and public works (2009 -2011), Rosen Plevneliev. Andrey Novakov, MEP and Substitute of the Committee on Transport and Tourism of the European Parliament, will give a talk about the European Connectivity Agenda and geopolitical challenges (CV on the bottom right). The top priorities in the European Connectivity Agenda will be presented by Matej Zakonjsek, Director of Permanent Secretariat of Transport Community Treaty, as well as by Ardian Hackaj, Coordinator of Tirana Connectivity Forum. An academic perspective about the opportunities and challenges in the field of connectivity, will be shared by Asen Asenov, Dean of Faculty of Transport, University of Ruse. The public discussion aims to bring together representatives of the governmental, non-governmental, academic and business sectors, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as journalists. The event will be carried out in ENGLISH and BULGARIAN.
