Details

Europe wide terrorist attacks are keeping citizens, security agencies and governments on alert. The attack in Berlin in December 2016 was the first one of its kind carried out by the so called Islamic State (IS) on German soil.

How did the German government react? Which measures were taken by the authorities? What are the lessons learnt?

How did the German public react to this phenomenon? Are the citizens changing their way of life feeling insecure and are they frightened of further attacks?

What is the German political and public debate on homeland security?
