Kenia ist eine klassische Präsidialdemokratie.Der Präsident wird vomVolk direkt gewählt und ist laut geltenderVerfassung Chef der Regierung,der die Richtlinien der Politikbestimmt und der das Kabinett ernennt,das aus Mitgliedern des Parlamentsbesteht und vom Parlamentbestätigt werden muss.Die politischen Parteien treten außerhalbvon Wahlen nur wenig inErscheinung. Das Parteiensystem istunübersichtlich und von Neugründungenund wechselnden Partei-Bündnissen und Allianzen gekennzeichnet.
