The United States under Trump: Internal Dynamics and Repercussions on the Middle East

Since 2017 the United States’ strategy towards the Middle East Region has shifted. The Trump administration has generated worldwide attention by moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, cutting funds to UNRWA and announcing the withdrawal of its troops from war-torn Syria in late December 2018.

In the format of a round table, we want to discuss with policy expert Prof. Dr. Stefan Fröhlich from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg the US domestic policies and the US general foreign policy under President Trump administration. We will also be discussing the current repercussions of the Trump administration foreign policy on the Middle East with Mr. Mouafac Harb, Former Director Al Hurra TV in Washington D.C and Dr. Elie Al Hindy, Director at the MEIRSS Center. The event will be followed by an open discussion.
