Studien- und Dialogprogramm für hochrangige Sicherheitsexperten aus Malaysia

Auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung besuchte in der vergangenen Woche eine Delegation von hochrangigen Sicherheitsexperten aus Malaysia Brüssel und Berlin, um einen Einblick in die Sicherheitspolitik und Sicherheitsstruktur in Deutschland und Europa zu erlangen. Das Besucherprogramm wurde vom Team Inlandsprogramme organisiert und wurde von Herrn Jan Senkyr, Leiter des Auslandsbüros Malaysia der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, begleitet.

Asia has become the centre of interest because of its growing importance for global peace and stability. The United States, the European Union, and Nato are all trying to increase relations with the region. It is in this context that the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and ISIS Malaysia initiated the first Germany ‐ Malaysia Security Forum, on 26 June 2012, in Kuala Lumpur. Das traditionelle Schwerpunktthema der internationalen Arbeit der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Sicherheitspolitik wurde jetzt auch in Malaysia erfolgreich eingeführt. Ein zweitägiges Seminar am 25. und 26. Juni 2012 in Kuala Lumpur gab den Auftakt zur Etablierung einer kontinuierlichen Dialogplattform zu Fragen der bilateralen und internationalen Sicherheitskooperation.

Guidelines for Prosperity, Social Justice and Sustainable Economic Activity

Increased economic and political interconnectedness has led to greater growth and competition in many countries around the world. It has improved education opportunities, strengthened the social infrastructure and reduced poverty. And yet, peace, freedom and justice are all under threat. The unequal distribution of global prosperity is a contributing factor for increasing political and social tensions. The only way to overcome the current financial and economic crisis is to have international rules for the financial markets.
