Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) takes charge in a crucial conversation about building a better future by unlocking Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) opportunities.

The Global Compact report, “launched in July 2000 by United Nations Secretary-General (the late) Kofi Annan, is an international initiative bringing companies together with UN agencies, labour and civil society to support ten principles in the areas of human rights, working conditions, the environment, and anti-corruption”. In her opening speech, Suganthi Subramaniam, MIM’s Head of Programme Management emphasized on how many more companies around the world are adopting ESG strategies to create value for their businesses as ESG builds a better future for the current and the next generations.

Supported by Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung), Politik.ita is a capacity-building programme by Architects of Diversity (AOD) Malaysia to equip young politicians and youth with an interest in politics with the knowledge to address current policy blindspots, highlighting inclusive and anti-discrimination policies, through a series of workshops as well as through on-site learning experiences. The MiDAS-KAS Conference 2020 was held virtually from 9 - 10 December 2020. About 245 participants representing various government departments, especially from defence, national security, healthcare and related agencies; research and think-tank organisations; international agencies; and the diplomatic corp joined this conference on how COVID-19 had challenged the public globally and what are the possible responses for it from governments.

The MiDAS – KAS conference was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Royale Chulan Hotel, 27 – 28 August 2019. This is the official report of the conference proceedings that carried the theme ‘Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief: A Shared Responsibility.’ that attracted more than 300 delegates representing government departments, state government offices, local planning authorities, private consultants, academics, cross-border networks, think tanks and foreign government representatives.

Die malaysische Regierung reagierte enttäuscht, aber gelassen. Sie werde sich mit den verbliebenen TPP-Partnen abstimmen und nach neuen Lösungen suchen.

Studien- und Dialogprogramm für hochrangige Sicherheitsexperten aus Malaysia

Auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung besuchte in der vergangenen Woche eine Delegation von hochrangigen Sicherheitsexperten aus Malaysia Brüssel und Berlin, um einen Einblick in die Sicherheitspolitik und Sicherheitsstruktur in Deutschland und Europa zu erlangen. Das Besucherprogramm wurde vom Team Inlandsprogramme organisiert und wurde von Herrn Jan Senkyr, Leiter des Auslandsbüros Malaysia der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, begleitet.

Asia has become the centre of interest because of its growing importance for global peace and stability. The United States, the European Union, and Nato are all trying to increase relations with the region. It is in this context that the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and ISIS Malaysia initiated the first Germany ‐ Malaysia Security Forum, on 26 June 2012, in Kuala Lumpur.
