On December 17, 2025, the International Peace Institute (IPI), in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung New York office, hosted a closed-door workshop to reflect on the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) in Haiti, including efforts to promote the protection of civilians and coordination among key actors on the ground. Held under the Chatham House rule of non-attribution, the workshop brought together member states, UN officials, and external experts to discuss the evolving situation in Haiti.

The session provided an opportunity for Mr. Themba Kalua, Director for Pact for the Future Implementation, to convene with members of the New York Business Advisory Group and employers’ organizations to develop a shared understanding of private-sector capabilities and identify priority areas for collaboration across the Pact’s key pillars.
