KAS has been partnering for years with a number of State Houses of Assembly providing capacity building seminars in order to improve their understanding of democratic governance. Since 2020 the seminars are organized in partnership with NILDS. Before KAS and NILDS will begin their series of capacity building seminars for partner state Houses of Assembly in 2022, the Speakers of the Assemblies have been invited to a workshop in Abuja during which areas of need and interest for their different Assemblies will be identified. Opening remark at this workshop will be given by Dr. Peter Fischer-Bollin, the head of the Division for Analysis and Consulting of KAS, and the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman.

The workshop is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support towards sustaining democracy, governance, and Security Sector Reform in Nigeria.
