The Local Government Integrity Circles Network and the League of Provinces of the Philippines hosted the First National Ease of Doing Business Forum at the Diamond Hotel along Roxas Boulevard, Manila. Ms. Stephanie Carette, Program Manager for the European Union Delegation in the Philippines and Hon. Presbitero J. Velasco, Jr., the National President of LPP and Governor of the Province of Marinduque welcomed 102 delegates from various local government units, civil society organizations, the business sector, and national government agencies.

Mindanao 2019: Federalism, Bangsamoro, Security, and Martial Law

With aspirations to achieve sustainable peace and development in Mindanao, the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG) with support from Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Philippines (KAS) and International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), organized this year’s Kusog Mindanaw in Davao City from July 11 to 12, 2019. The theme for this year’s conference focused on “Federalism, Bangsamoro, Security, and Martial Law”.

High-ranking representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of the Philippines visited Berlin and Dresden, Germany from 23 to 27 June 2019 and had discussions on federalism and how it impacts actors in different levels with different personalities and representatives from the local, state, and federal level in Germany.
