This public lecture, sponsored by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and held in cooperation with the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) at the Hilton Hotel, deals with the topic of corruption. Corruption is an important issue for companies and governments throughout the region. Malaysia has witnessed steps to address this issue since the appointment of Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi, with notable investigations of both private sector businessmen and politicians. This has implications for the government and corporate sectors, and for those dealing with Malaysia. Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim is eminently well placed to comment on these developments. He is president of Transparency International Malaysia and a member of the Royal Commission that is addressing this issue.
