The support for family responsibilities seems to be decreasing amidst an increasingly competitive work environment and changes in setting priorities on the personal value scale. At the same time population growth is pointing to negative rates in leading economies and divorces are dramatically increasing.
This pattern is strikingly similar in Japan and Germany, the world’s second and third largest economies. Scientists and politicians in both countries are looking for solutions to stop or even to reverse this trend.
