Hosted by the Press Institute of Mongolia (PIM) and supported by the Asia Media Programme of the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation (KAS) in Singapore, this international conference brings together media practitioners, politicians, academics, and NGO-members to discuss issues relating to the role of the media in transition-era politics. In three sessions, the 18 participants from 6 Asian countries will be discussing topics relating to ‘Media, Elections, and Political Parties’, ‘The Media’s Role in Society’, and ‘Communication between Journalists and Politicians’.

The Press Institute of Mongolia is a member of the KAS-supported Council of Asian Press Institutes (CAPI). This umbrella organization of 10 Asian press institutes promotes and develops professional journalism in the region through a newsletter, vocational training seminars, conferences, and the sharing of technical and human resources
