The inaugural Asian Law Institute conference will be held in the National University of Singapore. The theme explored is "The Role of Law in a Developing Asia", and the conference will touch on several wide-ranging issues and sub-themes regarding law in a developing Asia. Topics range from constitutional reform, the administration of justice, Asian legal traditions to international trade and investment and harmonisation of commercial law in Asia. Legal experts from Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Germany will be sponsored by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung to participate and to share their insights on the topics.
