Aligning Policies and Raising Ambition for Reaching Carbon Neutrality in the Asia-Pacific

IEA-ICAP-KAS Carbon Pricing Dialogue

KAS RECAP, in collaboration with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP), is hosting a public webinar to discuss carbon pricing development and climate action in Asia-Pacific on 24 November 2021.

COP26 came at a critical juncture to secure global net-zero by mid-century and avoid the worst climate impacts. The overall trend in the Asia-Pacific region points to increasing ambition, with multiple jurisdictions having stepped up their national climate objectives through updated NDCs and carbon-neutrality pledges. Carbon pricing instruments play an essential role among the policies needed to expedite emissions reductions quickly and in time to stabilize global temperatures. This workshop provides a space for policymakers and experts from the Asia Pacific to share the latest updates on the role of carbon pricing in their policy mix and the steps being taken towards achieving long-term climate goals.
