Diskussion

Guidelines for Practice on Personal Data Protection

The discussion co-organised by KAS and Institute of Public Policy Studies (IPPS) together with network organisations will provide the participants from related working fields a platform to gain updated knowledge about the current policy and situation of personal data protection in Thailand, to exchange ideas and to propose opinions beneficial for further policy development. The discussion will also pave the way for further monitoring the bill on personal data protection once it passes the Council of State and is approved by the cabinet.

Introduction to Social Market Economy

KAS and the Forward Foundation will hold a one-day seminar to provide knowledge and promote model of the Social Market Economy’s concept especially the idea of “equitable society” to decision makers and participants from business sector in the community, local governments, and the public. Additionally, the working model according to the concept of Social Market Economy will be shared and exchanged in the event in order to pave the way for further policy development and definite implementation.

Das deutsche Grundgesetz und sein Einfluss auf den thailändischen Konstitutionalismus

Die Thai-Deutsche Gesellschaft wird anlässlich des 70. Jahrestages der Gründung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und des 30. Jahrestages des Mauerfalls ein Seminar veranstalten, um auf die vergleichenden interdisziplinären Aspekte des Einflusses des deutschen Grundgesetzes auf die thailändische Verfassung hinzuweisen. Die Seminarthemen werden von verschiedenen thailändischen und deutschen Rechts- und Sozialwissenschaftlern vorgestellt und referiert.

The Independence of the Constitutional Court

Das von der KAS und dem Büro des Verfassungsgerichts (OCC) zusammen veranstaltete Seminar bietet den Richtern des Verfassungsgerichts, den Staatsbeamten, den Rechtsexperten und den Hilfskräften von den Richtern die Chance, das bessere Verständnis über die Unabhängigkeit des Verfassungsgerichts und sein Ausmaß in verschiedenen Aspekten; zum Beispiel, die Qualifikationen der Justiz des Verfassungsgerichts, das Auswahlverfahren und die Verhaltensgrundsätze, zu erlangen.

Diese Veranstaltung in der Kooperation mit dem Sekretariat des Senats ist ein Abschlussworkshop in seinem Haushaltsjahr 2019 und hat das Ziel mit der Jugend in der Lokalprovinz über die thailändische politische Kultur und politische Entwicklung zu diskutieren sowie ihnen die parlamentarische Demokratie zu lehren. Auch am Workshop gibt es die Rollenspielsession für die Teilnehmer zu mehr Verständnis an dem parlamentarischen Protokoll.

Personal Data Protection: Awareness on Online Invasion

Eine von der KAS, dem Institute of Public Policy Studies (IPPS) und den Netzwerkorganisationen gemeinsam veranstaltete Diskussion bietet den Teilnehmern aus verwandten Arbeitsbereichen eine Plattform, um sich über die aktuelle Strategie und Situation von dem Schutz personenbezogener Daten in Thailand zu informieren, Ideen auszutauschen und Meinungen nutzbringend für die weitere Strategieentwicklung vorzuschlagen. Die Diskussion wird auch den Weg für eine weitere Beobachtung des Gesetzes über den Schutz der personenbezogenen Daten ebnen, sobald es von dem Staatsrat genehmigt und vom Kabinett bestätigt wird.

New Media and Civic Culture in 2019

KAS gemeinsam mit dem Institute of Democratisation Studies (IDS) wird eine Diskussion für Teilnehmer aus verwandten Bereichen wie Entscheidungsträgern, Sozial- und Politikwissenschaftsexperten, die Studenten sowie der Öffentlichkeit anbieten, um Wissen und Erfahrungen über die Rolle der neuen Medien zur Bürgerkultur und Persönlichkeit auszutauschen sowie das Bewusstsein für die Auswirkungen neuer Medien auf die Politikformulierung zu bilden.

Speech Contest to Promote Political Culture and Democratic Governance

Das Sekretariat des Senats (SOS) gemeinsam mit KAS Auslandsbüro Thailand wird eine Veranstaltung des Sprachwettbewerbs durchführen, um die Studenten und die Bildungsgemeinschaft zu ermutigen, die Wichtigkeit der demokratischen Regierungsführung mit dem König als Staatsoberhaupt zu erkennen und die kreativen Ideen und Äußerungen bei dem Bieten der politischen Meinungen zu verstärken.

Steering the Course of Digitalization

A Thai-German Exchange on Chances & Challenges of Digital Economy

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Office Thailand in cooperation with the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG) and the Asian Governance Foundation (AGF) co-hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Steering the Course of Digitalization: A Thai-German Exchange on Chances and Challenges of Digital Economy” on 15 February 2024. The event informed about the current state of affairs, pressing challenges to overcome, as well as opportunities for future development and cooperation with respect to digitalization in both countries.

Recommendations for Improvement of Public Services: Collaboration for Thailand’s Better Road Safety

Project on Open and Innovative Government in Thailand

To mobilise the Open Government in Thailand more effectively, inclusively and continuously, the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission or OPDC organised a series of workshops and hackathon event last year to improve the public services and performance of the public sector. The focal topic this time was how to increase road safety in Thailand through the innovative and sustainable methods in order to reduce damage to life and property which has also affected the social and economic development of the country as a whole.

Dialogprogramm EU-ASEAN als strategische Partner für Wachstum und Wohlstand

Besuch von MdB Serap Güler in Thailand

Frau Serap Güler MdB, Mitglied der CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion, reiste vom 30. bis 31. Oktober nach Bangkok, um auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Thailand an einem Dialogprogramm teilzunehmen. Frau Güler ist u.a. stellv. Vorsitzende des Afghanistan-Untersuchungsausschusses im Bundestag und Mitglied des Verteidigungsausschusses. In diesem ist sie zudem Berichterstatterin für Asien. Der Schwerpunkt ihres Besuches in Bangkok lag daher auf Sicherheitsfragen in den Bereichen Außenpolitik und internationale Beziehungen, Handel und Wirtschaft sowie Wahlen und Bürgerpartizipation.

Die neue europäische ESG-Lieferkettenverordnung und ihre Auswirkungen auf Thailand

Europe-in-Review (EiR) Seminar

Am 5. Oktober 2023 veranstalteten das German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG) und die Asian Governance Foundation (AGF) ein Seminar mit dem Titel "Die neue europäische ESG-Lieferkettenverordnung und ihre Auswirkungen auf Thailand". Das Event in Bangkok wurde in enger Kooperation mit dem Thailand Büro der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organisiert und durchgeführt. Die Veranstaltung informierte über die Inhalte der neuen EU-Lieferkettenrichtlinie (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, CSDDD), dem jüngsten Regelwerk im Bereich Umwelt, Soziales und Unternehmensführung (engl.: ESG), und erörterte die resultierenden Auswirkungen auf relevante Akteure sowohl in Thailand als auch in der EU. Im Rahmen des Seminars, das unter Chatham House Regeln stattfand, waren drei Redner eingeladen: Petros Sourmelis von der EU-Delegation in Thailand, Kelvin Sergeant von der International Labour Organization und Henning Glaser vom German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance. Das Seminar wurde von Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jaruprapa Rakpong von der juristischen Fakultät der Thammasat Universität moderiert. Unter den Teilnehmern im Publikum befanden sich Vertreter internationaler Organisationen, der Zivilgesellschaft, von Regierungsbehörden, Medien, ausländischen Botschaften, der Wissenschaft und der Wirtschaft.

Die Anwendung des Prinzips der sozialen Marktwirtschaft in Thailand

Von August bis September 2023 führte die Population and Community Development Association (PDA) mit Unterstützung der KAS die zweite Phase des Projekts "Business for Social and Environmental Development" durch. Die Aktivitäten fanden in den Zielgebieten mit Hilfe der PDA-Zentren für gemeindebasierte integrierte ländliche Entwicklung (CBIRD) in sieben Projektprovinzen statt.

Adaptation and Management to Mitigate Impacts on Vulnerable Groups According to the Principle of Leaving No One Behind

ASEAN Community Center of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives and UNDP Thailand, with the support of KAS Thailand Office, held a seminar on 18 September 2023 to validate the report on “Climate Change: Adaptation and Management to Mitigate Impacts on Vulnerable Groups According to the Principle of Leaving No One Behind”. The report was compiled from information and data gathered in the previous activities which had been implemented in Chiang Mai, Songkla, and Bangkok in the beginning of the year. Among participants, there were parliamentary and ministerial officials, diplomats, and also representatives from Thai civil society.
