Seit April 2009 läuft das Dreijahresprogramm der bilateralen rechtlichen Zusammenarbeit zwischen Deutschland und Vietnam. Das Koordinationstreffen soll dazu dienen, bereits durchgeführte und geplante Maβnahmen aller Partner zu koordinieren.

US - China Competition in the Southeast Asia

On May 11th 2022, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam and Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam jointly held the 19th edition of the China talk series. Until now, 18 China Talks have been carried out with different topics ranging from China’s foreign and security affairs to domestic politics such as analyzing the Communist Party Congresses or assessing Chinese Soft Power. And the 19th edition focused on US - China Competition in the Southeast Asia.

Developing non-conviction-based confiscation mechanism in Vietnam

On May 12th 2022, Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung Vietnam and Criminal and Administrative Legislation Department, Ministry of Justice jointly held the seminar on “Developing non-conviction-based confiscation mechanism in Vietnam”. Non-conviction recovery mechanisms can be considered as a breakthrough solution to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of money and asset recovery. Nevertheless, property confiscation without criminal proceedings is a complex measure that affects property rights and requires synchronization with other mechanisms and institutions such as asset control, income control, transaction control, non-cash payment system and anti-money laundering.

Enhancing the effective implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) is one of the most important international treaties on human rights to which Vietnam has been a member state since 1982. Upon the recommendations of the UN Human Rights Committee on the 3rd National Report on the Implementation of ICCPR, Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1252/QD-TTg on 26/9/2019 approving a national Action Plan “Enhancing the effective implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the recommendations of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights” (hereinafter referred to as the Action Plan).

HOPE Project - 1st Hybrid Conference

Policies and practices to engage with building users in creating well-being and sustainable living environment in Vietnamese cities

On 20 April, the 3-year-cooperation project "Health-oriented policies and sustainable building practices to promote well-being and green urban governance in Vietnam (HOPE)” between Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung Vietnam (KAS), Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) and the University of Hamburg (Germany) was kicked-off with a hybrid webinar. The topic was "Policies and practices to engage with building users in creating well-being and sustainable living environment in Vietnamese cities".

The Mekong Forum 1

The changing geopolitical landscape in the Mekong and its implications for sub-regional countries

On 19 January, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam and Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam successfully organized the first edition of the Mekong Forum with the theme “The changing geopolitical landscape in the Mekong and its implications for sub-regional countries ". This forum has connected domestic researchers and diplomats with international scholars in the research field on the Mekong. High on the agenda of this forum is to (i) discuss the do’s list of Mekong’s lower riparian nations, (ii) analyze the Mekong’s unique geopolitics, (iii) emerging trends in the Mekong.

The 13th South China Sea International Conference:

Looking back to a brighter future

The South China Sea International Conference (#SCSC) is a premium annual regional security forum focusing on SCS issues and ocean governance. This year, the event will be paneled by around 40 high-profile speakers and prominent experts who will be joined by an audience of hundreds of on-site and online participants. They are senior officials, members of diplomatic corps, business executives, leading scholars and academics and informed public throughout the world. The conference will provide participants with an unique opportunity to comprehensively analyse the state of affairs of the SCS and beyond, discuss measures to promote maritime cooperation and explore pathways towards the enhancement of #security and #prosperity of the Indo-Pacific. National Policies and International Relations under Covid19 in Southeast Asia and Beyond

Times of Uncertainty

On November 16, KAS Vietnam and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities co-organised a seminar introducing the book entitled National Policy and International Relations under the Covid 19 in Southeast Asia and Beyond. Apart from reviewing main content of the book which is to be published by German Publishing House Nomos Verlag, the seminar discussed the impacts of the pandemic on regional cooperation, ASEAN and multilateral institutions. The hybrid event attracted about 100 participants online and onsite.
