This public opinion analysis on the Macedonian process of accession to the European Union conducted in 2018 is a continuation of the research done in 2014, 2016 and 2017. It it determines general trends of support for Macedonia’s EU membership pointing out a correlation between the dynamics of the support for European Union membership and the development of the Macedonian EU accession process

This analysis was authored by Ivan Damjanovski and Marie Jelenka Kirchner and was presented to the public on 15.02.2019 in the EU Info Center. 

The findings of our longitudinal study of public support for EU membership in Macedonia over the past decade have
indicated a general trend of gradual decline in the number of respondents that would support Macedonia’s membership in the EU.
