In October 1920, Berlin became one of the largest metropolises in the world literally overnight. 100 years of Greater Berlin - this special anniversary gives cause for appreciation and reflection. Building on the foundation of the numerous experiences and insights gained in 100 years of urban development, this year's conference of the KAS initiative Strong Cities 2030 (SC2030) will look into the future: What does Berlin need for the next years and decades?

Details

Among other things, we ask and discuss these questions:

  • How should future urban development be oriented?
  • What changes do the existing economic, social, societal and political structures need in order to make Berlin resistant, sustainable and future-oriented?
  • How can the exchange between Berlin citizens and Berlin politics be actively shaped?
  • What innovations does Berlin need in order to remain a forward-looking metropolis in 2070?
  • What can Berlin learn from other cities in Europe and abroad?
