Political Communications/ Public Opinion

Democratic states and free, independent media are mutually dependent

The state and diversity of media are of great importance for the quality of the democratic public, since citizens’ level of information and public opinion are largely determined by the media. That is why it is all the more important to ensure freedom of the press and transparency of media structures, to enable fair working conditions for journalists, to counter propaganda and corruption within the media and safeguard pluralism of opinions and the freedom of opinion.
