Alljährlich lädt die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung zur Westbalkan-Botschafterkonferenz ein. Ziel ist es, eine Plattform zu bieten für einen offenen und vertraulichen Dialog zwischen hochrangigen politischen Entscheidungsträgern aus Bundestag, Europäischem Parlament und Bundesregierung auf der einen, sowie Vertretern des diplomatischen Corps auf der anderen Seite.

Eine glaubwürdige Beitrittsperspektive für den Westbalkan – eine Bilanz zwischen den Gipfeltreffen in Sofia und London

Westbalkan-Botschafterkonferenz

Bereits am 17. Mai trafen die Staats- und Regierungschefs der EU auf dem Gipfel von Sofia erstmalig seit 15 Jahren wieder mit ihren Amtskollegen aus dem Westbalkan zusammen und verständigten sich auf die Erklärung von Sofia, welche die uneingeschränkte Unterstützung der EU-Staaten für die europäische Perspektive des Westbalkans bekräftigte. Am 10. Juli 2018 findet dann in London die 5. Konferenz zum Westlichen Balkan im Rahmen des sogenannten Berlin-Prozesses statt. Zwischen diesen beiden Gipfeln lud die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung am 25. Juni in Berlin zur Westbalkan-Botschafterkonferenz ein.
