A plea for Germany’s debt brake

The discussion on Germany’s debt brake is in full swing. Critics of the debt break accuse it of being inflexible and an obstacle to investments for the sake of future generations. AI methods for specific challenges in education

Enabling effective support and challenge

The education system must succeed in strengthening the basic skills of a heterogeneous student body. Adaptive learning systems offer individual support through customized tasks and can support teachers in this challenge. However, they have hardly been used in Germany to date. Successful use requires close integration with classroom teaching and teacher training. In addition, the successful development of adaptive educational media requires a coordinated effort from politics, science and industry.

The digital divide in society

Results from a representative survey on artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) has not yet become part of everyday life for many. Elderly and respondents with a lower level of education are particularly unfamiliar with AI applications. The differences are presumably due to the fact that younger people and respondents with a high level of formal education can make use AI in their professional context. Technology, digitalization and AI are not perceived as a promise, but also not as a threat. Abstract With the spread of applications based on artificial intelligence (AI), the digitalization of society has reached a new level. A representative survey conducted by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung examines how AI is perceived and evaluated by the general population.

Research and Sources on Contemporary History

In der Reihe „Forschungen und Quellen zur Zeitgeschichte“ veröffentlicht das Archiv für Christlich-Demokratische Politik seit 1980 wissenschaftliche Studien zur Christlichen Demokratie, Darstellungen zur Geschichte der Bundesrepublik und der CDU sowie Biographien wichtiger Repräsentanten. Zu den 50 bisher erschienen Büchern zählen auch Quelleneditionen, wie Protokolle von Parteigremien oder Tagebücher von einflussreichen Politikern. Die Publikationen sind im Buchhandel erhältlich.

Sociopolitical Series

Veröffentlicht wurden herausragende Dissertationsschriften mit gesellschaftspolitisch relevanten Themen von Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten der Begabtenförderung und Personen, die ihrem Promotionskolleg „Soziale Marktwirtschaft“ kooptiert sind.

Die Reihe gab den Autorinnen und Autoren ein wissenschaftliches und publizistisches Forum und brachte aktuelle Themen in die öffentliche Diskussion ein.
