Energy Strategies: Germany, New Zealand & Australia – A Comparative Perspective

KAS Regional Programme Australia and the Pacific (KAS Australia) has organised in cooperation with the European Centre for Energy and Resources Security (EUCERS) (to be renamed into European Centre for Climate and Energy Security) its 2nd Energy Policy Dialogue. The Programme is scheduled to take place from 7 to 11 October 2019 in New Zealand and Australia. The aim of the Dialogue is to bring together policy makers, experts and business representatives from Australia, Germany and New Zealand to discuss current energy policy issues and possible solutions.

KAS Australia is looking forward to welcome from Germany:

Dr Joachim Pfeiffer - Member of the German Bundestag, Spokesperson  for Economic and Energy Policy of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group
Prof Dr Friedbert Pflueger - Executive Director, European Centre for Energy and Ressource Security (EUCERS), King's College London
Dr Joachim Lang - Director General, Federation of the German Industry (BDI)
Dr Frank Umbach, Research Director, EUCERS, King's College London

There will be three main events: A CEOs Roundtable in cooperation with the German New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (GNZCC) on “Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency” in Auckland, a Roundtable Discussion in cooperation with the New Zealand Institute for International Affairs (NZIIA), the New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) and the New Zealand Business Energy Council on “The New Zealand – Germany Energy Trilemma Dialogues: Balancing Energy Security, Affordability & Environmental Sustainability” in Wellington as well as a Breakfast Discussion in cooperation with the German Australian Chamber of Commerce (GACC) on “Current Energy Policy Challenges for Australia & Germany” in Sydney.

The roundtables are complemented by various bilateral meetings with government representatives, energy authorities and academics.
