The 2017 Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (APRC), which will take place in Perth from November 3 - 5, 2017 and is organised by the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, will focus on the bilateral business relations between Australia and Germany in the Indo-Pacific/Asia-Pacific context. Political and business leaders will explore new investment & trade opportunities with a special focus on the growth of the Asia-Pacific. Germany and Australia will discuss how to best leverage their strong ties into the Asia-Pacific. The APRC will bring up to one thousand delegates to Perth to hear from business and political leaders about future opportunities in areas such as Mining & Resources, Industry 4.0, Energy, Disruptive Technologies, Defence Industries and how Australia acts as a premier business gateway for the Asia-Pacific region.
We are excited to announce our active participation by hosting a policy session on the important topic of "Geopolitics in the Asia-Pacific Region – Opportunities, Challenges and Perspectives". This panel which will bring together a range of politicians and senior experts from Germany, Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region who will discuss the geopolitical challenges and opportunities this region offers. To mark the significance of this panel, the keynote address will be delivered by Australia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Julie Bishop and Singapore's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr.Vivian Balakrishnan.
The Asia-Pacific is of central importance to the security and prosperity of not only its wider geographical neighbourhood including Australia, but also globally. It is therefore crucial to understand the geostrategic dynamics shaping the region.
