KAS Panel Discussion followed by Networking Lunch - 4 April, 2024 - Wellington, NZ (this event is in English only)

Konrad Adenauer Stiftung – Regional Programme for Australia and the Pacific (KAS Australia) is pleased to support a panel discussion followed by a networking luncheon on 4 April 2024 in Wellington. Moderated by KAS Australia’s Director, Bertil Wenger, the panel discussion will be concerned with “Emerging Democracies in Africa and the Pacific – Challenges in A World of Turmoil” and feature high level speakers from those regions. The event will be held in the context of the IDU Forum scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 April 2024 in New Zealand’s capital.

KAS Australia’s 2020 Energy Policy Dialogue has concluded with a virtual public seminar on The Hydrogen Economy - Prospects for a German-Australian Collaboration. The aim of the event was to provide senior German and Australian representatives from industry, policy and research with a forum to map out opportunities for collaboration on hydrogen R&D, investment and trade, and to discuss how to overcome barriers.

'Covid-19 & the road to global cyber norms: The case of banning cyber operations against public health infrastructures'

The annual KAS Australia-Europe 1.5 track Cybersecurity Dialogue, this year already in its third iteration, aims to bring together senior government representatives, policy makers, academic experts, practitioners and members of the diplomatic corps to share their views, develop better understandings and explore how cooperation could be strengthened. Usually, this is achieved through a combination of roundtables, an in-depth seminar and meetings at various relevant institutions and ministries, as well as the respective federal, state and EU Parliaments – alternating between Canberra/Sydney and Berlin/Brussels as locations.

MP Carsten Mueller (Member of the Economic Affairs and Energy Committee; Chairman of the Parliamentary Circle on Energy Efficiency, Chairman of the German Industry Initiative for Energy Efficiency; etc.) in the course of a Roundtable Discussion held on 16 September 2019 in Sydney had the opportunity to discuss energy policy matters with representatives from the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity, the energy industry and energy authorities.

Australische Premierministerin von New South Wales will Wirtschaft und Arbeitsmarkt vorantreiben

Die australische Premierministerin von New South Wales (NSW), Gladys Berejiklian, will das Umland von Sydney wirtschaftlich weiter ausbauen und dort unter anderem für neue Arbeitsplätze sorgen. Ihr Langzeitprojekt von einer Flughafenstadt „Aerotropolis“ zur Stärkung des Umlandes von Sydney, erläuterte sie am Freitag bei einem Besuch in der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. „Dieser Besuch zeigt, dass wir uns der Vertiefung und dem Ausbau unserer Beziehungen zu Deutschland verpflichtet fühlen“, sagte Berejiklian.

2nd Australia-Germany Cybersecurity Dialogue, Berlin and Brussels, June 24 – 28 2019

After the success of our first Australia-Germany Cybersecurity Dialogue in Canberra in 2018, for this year’s dialogue we took a group of Australian experts to Berlin and Brussels. The delegation engaged in theme-focused roundtables and bilateral meetings at relevant ministries and institutions in Berlin and Brussels to examine current challenges and how to best manage them based on multifaceted approaches and bi-lateral/multi-lateral cooperation.
