KAS Panel Discussion followed by Networking Lunch - 4 April, 2024 - Wellington, NZ (this event is in English only)

Konrad Adenauer Stiftung – Regional Programme for Australia and the Pacific (KAS Australia) is pleased to support a panel discussion followed by a networking luncheon on 4 April 2024 in Wellington. Moderated by KAS Australia’s Director, Bertil Wenger, the panel discussion will be concerned with “Emerging Democracies in Africa and the Pacific – Challenges in A World of Turmoil” and feature high level speakers from those regions. The event will be held in the context of the IDU Forum scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 April 2024 in New Zealand’s capital.

In cooperation with the College of Asia and the Pacific at the ANU we conducted for the first time a conference to address the challenges and opportunities offered by the ever-evolving geographical, economic and strategic space of Asia.

“Asia-Pacific Diplomacy in Transition: Ideas, Issues and Institutions”

The University of Otago, in cooperation with the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Regional Programme - Australia and the Pacific, brought together academics, diplomats and representatives of various ministries to discuss major trends and developments affecting diplomacy in New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region in the early 21st century, at the recent 53rd Otago Foreign Policy School.
