Koha

Koha is a daily in Albanian language. It was established by the journalists Arben Ratkoceri and Lirim Dullovi. Known as close to the ethnic Albanian party DPA (Democratic Party of Albanians), but trying to have a balanced coverage.

Nova Makedonija

Nova Makedonija is the oldest daily newspaper in the country (since 1944) owned now by steel tycoon Minco Jordanov. During transition it was sold to an IT company and existed in an extreme small circulation from 2004 to 2008, in order to keep the brand. Jordanov bought the newspaper in 2008.

Sloboden pecat

Sloboden pecat was established by the Macedonian journalist Branko Gerovski in 2012. This daily is pro-oppositional oriented and financed by the Soros Foundation. It is known for sharp comments on the official state policy.

Vecer

The daily was founded in 1963 as a state-owned (City of Skopje) media outlet. Yet during communism it was often pro-opposition oriented. Nowadays it is pro-government. Vecer was bought by Idea Plus Image PR enterprises and is now owned by the family of the founder of the private European University in Skopje, Bojo Andrevski. Andrevski’s son-in-law is the official owner.
