The forum aims at discussing viable possibilities to reduce Carbon dioxide emissions. Among the participants are Porto Alegre’s Mayor, José Fortunati, and the head of the environmental department of the city as well as Emílio Lèbre La Rovere, Director of the "Climate Centre" of the federal University UFRJ´s Coppe Institute, which is specialized on environmental and climate research.
ILADES is a non-profit research centre that focuses primarily on science and education. Founded in 2011, the idea behind ILADES was to create a platform that would promote scientific research and studies. In collaboration with public and private educational institutions, the centre aims at strengthening the social and economic development of South America. In doing so, particular Emphasis is placed towards adhering to the principles of good governance and complying with environmental regulations. ILADES is a partner of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation since December 2012.
