Virtual Democracy – Social Implications

Campo Grande Edition

The first edition of the series "Virtual Democracy" took place at the Dom Bosco Catholic University in Campo Grande, capital of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, with the participation of many experts on issues of the social implications of virtual activities. In two thematic panels and with the participation of over 100 student representatives they discussed the current challenges and political issues that Internet-based activities bring with them.

Rio de Janeiro celebrates the European Week

In cooperation with the Center of International Studies of the Getulio Vargas-Foundation, as well as with the European Union’s Delegation in Brazil, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Brazil organized the Fourth European Day at the European House, the administrative seat of the German and French General Consulates in Rio de Janeiro. Numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps, leaders of renowned Brazilian political institutions, as well as interested graduate students took part in the one-day event.

The new geopolitics of energy, Brazil and the South Atlantic

KAS-CEBRI project "Pathways to the Future We Want" started in 2012 in the context of Rio + 20. In 2015, it focused on the issue of conscious energy. The discussion is justified due to the current Brazilian and Latin American energy crisis.

Frente Nacional de Prefeitos

A Frente Nacional de Prefeitos é uma entidade criada em 1989, a partir da Constituição Federal de 1988 e das novas relações federativas. O objetivo da Frente é liderar debates sobre os temas que pautam a vida das cidades. Por isso, fez-se necessária a criação de um encontro paralelo à Frente Nacional de Prefeitos para se debater com mais propriedade a relação dos municípios com a sustentabilidade. Diante dessa demanda foi criado o Encontro dos Municípios com o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (EMDS), que em 2015 realizou seu III encontro.

Dr. Klaus Schüler, Germany’s CDU Federal Manager, travels to Brazil with the purpose of holding top-level political talks. Together with Vincent Kokert, Secretary General of the CDU Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the party official shall meet with influential politicians of the PSDB and Democratic parties both in Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.
