Public policies for women, children and young people

The Human Rights Training course, organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in partnership with Kolping Brazil, aims to train and disseminate in-depth knowledge on the subject of human rights in a broad and accessible way. In addition, we seek to debate important issues for the current social context, which impact the lives of millions of people in Brazil and around the world on a daily basis.

"Rio + 20: Global denken – lokal handeln"

Am 20. Juni beginnt in Rio de Janeiro die Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen für nachhaltige Entwicklung - kurz "Rio+20". Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung und das RBB–Inforadio veranstalteten hierzu einen Diskussionsabend in Berlin mit besonderem Fokus auf Brasilien und setzten damit ihre erfolgreiche Veranstaltungsreihe "Wir gestalten Zukunft" fort. Am Ende waren sich die Teilnehmer einig: Seit dem ersten Klimagipfel im Jahre 1992 ist einiges auf den Weg gebracht worden, doch die globale Herausforderung bleibt groß.

Komponenten einer nachhaltigen Welt

Am 16. und 17. April 2012 führte die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. mit Unterstützung der Tageszeitung „O Estado de S. Paulo“ ein Seminar unter dem Titel „On the road to Rio +20 – Komponenten einer nachhaltigen Welt“ durch. Ziel des Seminars war es, die verschiedenen Erwartun-gen an die im Juni anstehende Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung zu formulieren und zu diskutieren. Hierzu waren brasilianische wie auch deutsche Experten eingeladen, um vor einem öffentlichen Publikum an verschiedenen Rundtischen zusammenzukommen und den Rio-Prozess zu kommentieren.

Ergebnisbericht

Die brasilianische Metropole Rio de Janeiro wird in den kommenden Jahren mehrfach Gastgeber herausragender internationaler Großveranstaltungen sein. Für eine nachhaltige Gestaltung schlagen das Öko-Institut mit Unterstüztug der KAS verschiedene Leuchtturmprojekte vor.

Start der Maßnahmen rund um Rio +20 der KAS Brasilien

Am 14.12.2011 lud die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Brasilien eine Expertengruppe aus Vertretern der Wissenschaft, der Zivilgesellschaft und der Stadt wie auch des Bundesstaates Rio de Janeiro zu einem geschlossenen Workshop ein. Dort wurde eine erste Einschätzung zu den Ergebnissen des Weltklimagipfels in Durban erarbeitet und der Blick auf die Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung „Rio +20“ und die brasilianische Positionen hierzu gerichtet.

O seminário "Direitos humanos e democracia no Brasil" foi realizado os dias 2 a 4 de dezembro 2011 em Palmas, Tocantins. Começou na sexta-feira à noite e foi liderado por Maria Fernanda Teixeira da Costa, que programou parte expressiva das atividades realizadas. Houve uma mescla de dinâmicas, reflexões e produção de importantes materiais coletivos.

VIII. Forte de Copacabana

Neue Themen auf der internationalen Sicherheitsagenda

Am 3. und 4. November lud die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung gemeinsam mit ihrem Partner, dem Brasilianischen Zentrum für Internationale Beziehungen (CEBRI), und mit Unterstützung der Europäischen Union zur VIII. Internationalen Sicherheitskonferenz „Forte de Copacabana“ ein. Diese fand im Marriott Hotel Copacabana statt und vereinte eine Vielzahl von Sprechern von beiden Seiten des Atlantik, um „Neue Themen auf der internationalen Sicherheitsagenda“ zu diskutieren. Die Konferenz war für ein breites Publikum zugänglich und wurde sowohl von den lokalen als auch den nationalen Medien begleitet.

Sustainable Mega-Events in Developing Countries

Experiences and Insights from Host Cities in South Africa, India and Brazil

How can Mega-Events, such as the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup™ in South Africa, the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India as well as the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, be used as catalysts for sustainable urban development? Based on three country case studies the authors analyze challenges and opportunities that come with such events. The aim of the manual is to assist future host cities, particularly in a developing country context, and promote the hosting of such events in an environmentally as well as economically and socially sustainable manner.

Am 9. und 10. November fand in Rio der Workshop unter Teilnahme des Öko-Instituts und des Umweltamtes der Stadt Rio neben weiteren wichtigen lokalen Autoritäten statt. Im Mittelpunkt standen die Themen Recycling, Verkehr und Umweltbildung.

Der Grüne Gigant – Nachhaltigkeit in Brasilien

Am 6. und 7. Oktober 2011 lud die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, zusammen mit dem Instituto do Legislativo Paulista (ILP), zu einem Workshop mit dem Thema „Der Grüne Gigant – Nachhaltigkeit in Brasilien“ ins Auditorium des Landesparlaments von São Paulo ein. Ziel der Veranstaltung war es, einen Einblick in den aktuellen Stand der Nachhaltigkeitsbestrebungen Brasiliens zu geben und Herausforderungen für die Zukunft zu diskutieren.
